Explore the University of Turku art collection
The art collection of the University of Turku began to grow in the early 1920s, not only with the support of the public and communities, but also with the support of artists. The collection, which has been accumulated over more than a hundred years, has been acquired in a variety of ways, mainly through donations motivated by the desire to promote research and education, but also by a personal attachment to the alma mater.
The online gallery showcases the diversity of the University’s art collection through photographs, descriptive texts and archival material. The collection also depicts the University’s over 100 years of history and the members of the University community.
